Week 12 – Vectors

.

So last night we did vectors.

The notes from the board and the worksheet are here, I haven’t bothered uploading the answers seeing as most were pure fiction (in future, remind me just to go with Katie’s answers as she’s far more reliable than me).

Next week we’ll be doing some more Vectors questions, and maybe some revision too.

If anyone wants some textbook questions on Vectors, just send me an email saying what textbook you’ve got and I’ll pass on the important questions.  And – as per usual – if anyone wants any help with anything just get in touch.

Week 10 – Quadratics and Polynomials

.

This week we did some more quadratics and also looked at polynomials.

The notes and stuff are here.

If there’s any questions about it, just get in touch.  If you’d like me to point you in the direction of textbook questions (which are probably far better than mine) just get in touch, telling me what textbook you’re using.

Week 9 – More Circle

.

So, this week we did some more Circles stuff.

Notes from the Board, a circle worksheet and past paper questions on the circle are available at this link.

Answers to the worksheet will be forthcoming at some point (hopefully today).

Next week we’ll do some more on quadratics and also look at polynomials, it should be fun 🙂

Week 8 – The Circle

.

Before I go any further, anyone wanting their result for the assessment thingy last night should drop me an email and I’ll let you know.

The sheet I gave out last night, the notes from the board and – in a huge shock – the answers to said sheet are all here.

Oh and don’t do question 11.  Well, you can do it if you know how, but I haven’t gone over that type of circle formula just yet so you can leave it till next week.

Ok, see you all next week.  Just get in touch if you need anything.

Week 7 – Further logs & exponentials

.

I’ve uploaded the stuff from this week to here.

It’s got the worksheets I gave out as well as an extra practice sheet for the unit assessment thingy.  It’ll be happening on the 24th October (it won’t be that long, probably only 45 minutes or so).  Once it’s out the road we’ll be doing quadratics for the rest of the evening.

I still owe answers for some of the other sheets I’ve given out so I’ll try and get them finished today.

As per always, get in touch if you need anything.

Week 6 – Logs & Exponentials

.

So last night I blasted through logs and exponentials at warp 7.

The notes and the worksheet I gave out are here.  The worksheet is to be finished for next week, hokay dok.

The first unit assessment will be on 24th October.  I’ll give you out stuff to prep with next week.

On another note, was last night better for me getting through the stuff quickly?  I’m wondering if it’s better to blast through stuff in an hour or so and then let you work for a couple of hours, or if I should go slower (which leaves less time for you to work on your own).   If you have any thoughts over what is the better way of doing things, let me know.  I’m open to suggestions.

Random Stuffs

.

Having marked the homeworks (and many thanks to those who bothered to do it – they were excellent) it occurred to me one or two of you are a bit, um, rusty at the whole solving simultaneous equations thing.  So, I’ve added a worksheet on it here:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_T3kvfJKI2lQVNRMmc2ZllvRTA

There’s no answers to it – if you are doing it then let me know and I’ll tell you how to check your answers.

Oh, and you can ignore the solving graphically bit.

Also, if you are interested in a worksheet on Factorising then let me know and I’ll make one up.  I just don’t have much enthusiasm for doing it unless there’s interest there.

Anyone who does want to see their homework – I’ve scanned them all into my computer so I can send you a copy if you want feedback on it.

Week 5 – Functions

.

Seeing as some of you looked a bit like you were caught in headlights whilst doing the factorising stuff last night, here’s some links:

Khan Academy – Factorising

If you want any extra help on factorising then get in touch.

Last nights notes and the worksheet I gave out are here.  Also, a reminded that I currently have 5 attempts at yon Straight Line stuff I gave out so the class is going to get very small unless some of you get the finger out.

Finally – a request: If you’re struggling with anything then speak to me or email me or do something.  DON’T just sit and be stuck, it’ll be a very long and painful course if you do that.  Don’t let yourself fall behind.

Tonight I’ll be in FG13 from 4:30, should any of you want to go over stuff or even move on to something different.

P.S. I’m about to sit and mark the homeworks so if any of you want some feedback you can email me or speak to me on Monday.
